Australia exports the bulk of farm output and sells a large slice of it to China. Over 70 per cent of the value of agricultural production is exported. In the latest year agricultural exports were $75.8 billion, approximately 12 per cent of total goods and services exports. The table total is $75,833 million. China bought $16,716 million. China was the largest market, accounting for 22 per cent of agricultural exports.

Demand that continues is the rest of the table. The United States was $9,101 million, Japan $5,202 million, the European Union $4,375 million, the Republic of Korea $4,116 million, and Indonesia $4,065 million. The sum of those five printed lines is a calculated $26,859 million. New Zealand, India, Vietnam, and the Philippines are further continuing buyers on the same table.

By volume, Australia exported 71 percent of agriculture's production in the latest three-year window. A calculated complement is 29 percent of volume that does not need an export buyer. That complement is still exposed to fertiliser and herbicide cost. Canola, sheep meat, beef, and wheat are more export-oriented than pigs, poultry, and cheese.

The input shock is the opposite of the United States. In 2024 Australia imported $3,460,808.18K of HS 31 fertilizers, and China was the largest supplier at $528,111.90K, a calculated 15.3 percent of fertilizer import value. In 2023 the same chapter was $2,668,976.93K, with China at $379,413.21K, a calculated 14.2 percent. China supplied 42 percent of DAP imports. China supplied 96 percent of SOA imports. China supplied 80 percent of superphosphate imports. Urea and Canadian potash largely continue.

Herbicide dependence is sharper than the fertiliser average. In 2024 Australia imported $870,755.89K and 283,384,000 kg of HS 380830. China supplied $611,486.44K and 245,286,000 kg. That is a calculated 70.2 percent of herbicide import value and a calculated 86.6 percent of herbicide quantity. Malaysia at $72,890.59K and 23,393,300 kg keeps shipping.

The short price analog is a DAP benchmark, not urea, because urea's top sources are Gulf producers and DAP's top source is China. World Bank DAP moved from $747.13 per metric ton to $938.13 per metric ton in one month, a calculated 25.6 percent rise in one month. The Geelong FCA series on the ABARES dashboard prints a peak date and does not print a dollar price.

Taiwan's agriculture-relevant print is sulphate of potash, not a foundry share. Taiwan supplied 19 percent of SOP imports. Germany supplied the larger SOP share. WITS does not list Taiwan on the 2024 HS 8432 partner table.

The China agricultural-export invoice stops. China bought $16,716 million, accounting for 22 per cent. Beef and veal were $16,095 million and 21.2 percent of agricultural exports. Wheat was $8,661 million and 11.4 percent. Wool was $2,758 million and 3.6 percent. Barley was $2,962 million. Wine at $2,609 million and dairy products at $3,727 million are downstream of primary production and are context only.

Wool is the primary product with the tightest printed China share. China accounts for 82 per cent of Australia's global wool exports on the ChAFTA fact sheet. The fact sheet is not dated to the same year as the $2,758 million wool line, so the 82 per cent is not multiplied by that dollar line. The WTO wool tariff-rate quota is 287,000 tonnes at 1 per cent, and Australia's country-specific quota grew to 44,324 tonnes clean by 2024.

Other buyers continue. A calculated $26,859 million is the sum of the United States, Japan, the European Union, Korea, and Indonesia on the same DFAT table. Applied Australian agriculture tariffs averaged 0.9 per cent in 2024.

China-origin phosphate and sulphate fertilisers stop. China supplied 42 percent of DAP imports, with Saudi Arabia at 30 percent and Morocco at 22 percent. China supplied 22 percent of MAP imports, behind Morocco at 39 percent. China supplied 96 percent of SOA imports. China supplied 80 percent of superphosphate imports. China supplied 24 percent of NPK imports. China supplied 11 percent of UAN imports, behind the United States at 86 percent. The dashboard window is the share of imports over 2023-2025, sourced from ABS, and 2026 data were not yet available.

Urea and muriate of potash keep moving under a China-only stop. For the season from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026, Australia imported 104 percent of ABARES' estimated urea demand. Urea's top sources were the United Arab Emirates at 23 percent, Saudi Arabia at 17 percent, Qatar at 17 percent, Malaysia at 11 percent, and Indonesia at 10 percent. China is not in that urea top list. Muriate of potash was Canada at 63 percent, Jordan at 15 percent, and the United States at 12 percent. Sources marked as passing the Strait of Hormuz are a separate risk and are outside this scenario.

Herbicide kilograms from China stop. A calculated 86.6 percent of herbicide quantity is the China line of 245,286,000 kg inside 283,384,000 kg. HS 380830 is the HS 1988/92 heading. The product name on the page is truncated. It is not the full modern pesticide chapter.

The export gate that is quantified is Western Australia and Brisbane, not a national port model. CBH receivals reached 24.1 million tonnes, of which 16.3 million tonnes were stored under tarp. In December, more than 2 million tonnes were shipped through all four port terminals. At Brisbane, bulk grain export tonnages reached nearly 2 million tonnes.

Taiwan delay shows up in SOP, where Taiwan supplied 19 percent of SOP imports and Germany supplied 63 percent. It does not show up as a named row on the 2024 HS 8432 import table. Soil-preparation machinery imports were $263,540.58K, with Canada at $67,749.85K and China at $23,418.30K, a calculated 8.9 percent. The visible partner list does not include Taiwan. That is not the same as a dedicated partner-page zero.
